Internship at ICPS

What we're looking for

If you are enrolled in or are a recent graduate of an undergraduate or post-graduate university program and you:

  • have "excellent" and "very good" grades in the social sciences and are ready to apply theory in practice;
  • are fluent in English and can prove it orally and in writing;
  • speak or understand Ukrainian;
  • do not need additional training in MS Office applications;
  • need less than one minute to find information about the author of the lyrics and at least two performers of the song called "Fragile,"-

Marketing:

  • analyzing ICPS marketing activities and developing ways to improve them;
  • looking for new subscribers and research customers in Ukraine and abroad;
  • developing proposals for ICPS advertising policy.

Note: candidates must have some knowledge of or experience in these areas.

Public Relations:

  • analyzing ICPS’s profile in the media based on published materials;
  • writing articles and news items about current events at ICPS and the results of ICPS research;
  • helping organize public events.

Note: candidates must speak fluent Ukrainian, be able to analyze information from all possible points-of-view, to listen, write and distinguish information of interest to ICPS readers.

Human Resources:

  • developing recommendations for the system of staff management in ICPS;
  • helping develop a handbook on ICPS rules and procedures, documenting day-to-day activities.

Note: candidates must have a degree in HR or related areas, or a strong understanding of HR issues.

European integration:

  • European Union affairs;
  • deeper Ukraine-EU integration (e.g. stake in EU internal market);
  • sectoral studies (e.g. energy, telecommunications, transport, agriculture);
  • administrative reform and local government;
  • defense, security and migration.

Note: Fluency in English is a must, professional experience and references are an asset.

Research:

  • searching and generalizing information;
  • writing analytical reports;
  • researching an independently topic selected from one of the Centre’s areas of activity.

Note: candidates should have strong writing skills.

What you should do next

  • a cover letter telling us which area of ICPS activity you are interested in, how you plan to work in it, what kind of information you need, and what period of time your project will involve.

  • Do interns get paid?
  • No, we do not pay interns, but we do offer some incentives incentives in return for your efforts.

  • How long does a typical internship last?
  • About 2–3 months.

  • How many interns can work in ICPS at the same time?
  • At present, the Centre has three available desks that can be used by interns.

  • Can I submit applications in several areas of activity at the same time?
  • Yes, but don’t forget to indicate this in your applications.

  • Should my application include a record of my grades, letters of recommendation, and so on?
  • It’s not mandatory, but we recommend that you add any information that confirms your achievements and personal merits.

  • I’m worried that I won’t be able to handle all the different activities within a specific area, but I know I’ll be able to work on one aspect among those listed. Should I still apply?
  • Yes, you should. We use an individual approach in considering applicants.

  • I’m not a student anymore, but I’d like to take on an internship. Is that possible?
  • Yes!

  • Is it possible to combine an internship with studies or another job?
  • Yes, it is. We can organize a flexible schedule, part-time involvement, and so on.
